| Injection Moulding of Plastic and Rubber in One Step(article from "Plastverarbeiter 6/93) - summary) |
|
Today, modern products need materials with high physical, chemical, physiological et economical qualities. Most of the materials do not meet this requirements. Using composites is the way to combine qualities of differenz materials. From an ecological and economical point of view processing composites in one step, ether mecanical or chemical (a. e. the K&K processing by Hüls) is very advantageous. The condenser sealing discs (see picture 1&2) are facing temperatures of more than 100°C. Therefore the customer needs an alloy of P.A. with 30 % glass-fibre and elastomeres. Allready in 1985 special soot-reduced and quickly vulcanising NBR-Elastomeres have been developed. The "Motzener Kunststoff- und Gummiverarbeitung GmbH" has experiences with injection molding of both plastics and rubber.
The task: The "Motzener Kunststoff- und Gummiverarbeitung GmbH" had to install an injection molding machine for processing plastics and rubber in one step in a mold with a reserving plate and brushes for automatical production of condenser sealing discs.
The solution:
Co-operation with Ferromatik-Milacron at Malterdingen. Injection molding machine FX 50/30R/2F (see picture 3). reliable hot-runner system at low voltage 12 zones from EWIKON in Frankenberg (see picture 4). The "Motzener Kunststoff- und Gummiverarbeitung GmbH" encreased the process of vulcanisation of the NBR 60 shore. Controlling of 5 different zones of temperature with in the mold. High precision of toolmaking, especially of the reserving plate. Installing a system of brushes to clean the cold-runner parts. The mold was produced by "KMS Formbau GmbH" at Bad Muskau.
The Result:
Processing a P.A. with 30 % glass-fibre and a 60 shore elastomeres in one step in an Injection molding machine with a 2 x 8 - reversing plate tool (see picture 6). The short time of vulcanisation enabled a cycles of less than 60 sec. In position 1 the 8 drops are filled drops reverses and the mold closes again. In position 2 the elastomeres is injected, while the next 8 drops are filled with the PA. The mold opens again (see picture 7) and the finished parts are ejected; the tool returns to position 1. |
